What is a HGV Class 2 driver?
A Class 2 HGV driver holds a Category C driving licence, allowing them to drive rigid lorries over 3.5 tonnes (typically up to 32 tonnes). They must hold a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card and complete 35 hours of periodic CPC training every five years. Common Class 2 work includes multi-drop palletised distribution, store deliveries, refuse collection and tipper operations.
