Night Transport Planner, 4-on-4-off, Warrington
About this role
Temp-to-perm Night Transport Planner role with a busy, growing general haulage depot at Warrington (WA3), 18:00-06:00 on a 4-on-4-off rota. You will plan and schedule daily vehicle routes and driver allocations, coordinate collections and deliveries across the UK, maximise vehicle utilisation and minimise empty running, monitor driver hours for compliance with transport legislation and the Working Time Directive, and liaise with drivers, customers, warehouses and subcontractors. You will respond quickly to delays, breakdowns and route changes, keep transport documentation accurate, keep customers updated on delivery schedules, and work with transport management and tracking systems day to day.
£28,500 per annum, permanent contract on successful completion of the temp period. Experience with transport management software and general haulage or pallet network operations is desirable.

What you'll need
- ✓ Previous experience in transport planning or haulage operations
- ✓ Good understanding of UK road transport regulations and tachograph rules
- ✓ Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
- ✓ Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- ✓ Able to work under pressure and manage changing priorities
- ✓ Strong communication and customer service skills
- ✓ Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and transport planning systems
- ✓ Able to work independently and as part of a team
- ✓ Right to Work in the UK
